Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose nearly 0.63 per cent to Rs 320.55 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in March increased by Rs 2, or 0.63 per cent, to Rs 320.55 per kilogram in 41 lots.
Copper futures gain on higher spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 9.60 to Rs 1,326.70 per kg on Wednesday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for March delivery grew 0.73 per cent in a business turnover of 959 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Zinc futures rise on high demand
Zinc prices rose Rs 1.40 to Rs 328.60 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for March delivery edged up by 0.43 per cent in a business turnover of 91 lots.
